Faculty of Medicine, Thammasat University joins hands with the Ministry of Public Health to develop a consulting system- a mechanism to develop the potential of child protection officers.

     Faculty of Medicine, Thammasat University in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Health and network partners develop a consulting system and expand learning channels for skills practice via the website https://oscc.consulting and various online platforms, with specialists supervising workload stress and personal matters to help increase the potential of child protection officers and increase the efficiency of child protection work in hospitals.

     Assoc. Prof. Wanida Pao-in, M.D., Faculty of Medicine, Thammasat University said that the Faculty of Medicine, Thammasat University recognizes the importance of violence among children and women in cooperation with the Ministry of Public Health and network partners continually solving problems by establishing a service center to help children and women in crisis from violence in all hospitals across the country and the Tambon Health Promoting Hospital, known as “One Stop Crisis Center” or OSCC, currently has 10,611 locations across the country, providing assistance to 247,480 children and women by a comprehensive multidisciplinary team both physical, mental, social, legal, rehabilitation and reintegration which the operation process must be done with delicacy, facilitating a wide range of expertise Including having to coordinate with network agencies outside the ministry, such as the Ministry of Human Security Development, Ministry of Justice, Royal Thai Police and social organizations.

     “Develop a model and expand learning and skills practice channels, and receive consulting through the website https://oscc.consulting to personnel responsible for the work of the One Stop Crisis Center under the Ministry of Public Health and agencies, network partners, government sector, social sector, including various online systems that are easy to access, fast and consistent with the current situation, such as Facebook, website, online meetings, e-learning, etc. to develop a body of knowledge, in-depth working skills, attitude adjustment by which they can learn more during the operation at any time. They also receive supervisation from specialists to cope with stress, anxiety and other mental health issues related to work and personal matters in order to perform child protection work more effectively,” Assoc. Prof. Wanida, M.D. concluded.
