Update: Thammasat University has discussed an academic collaboration with California State University at Fullerton.

CSU Fullerton visits Thammasat to explore exchange student link-up

     Mr. John Hickok of International Outreach in the Library Department of California State University at Fullerton (CSUF) was welcomed to Thammasat University, Tha Prachan Campus by the Director of OIA, Ms. Surussawadee Artnonla, along with Mr. Tatthana Swatdiwetin, the OIA Regional Coordinator for the Americas on 13 February 2023. 

     Mr. Hickok presented a series of video tutorials providing information about research methods and materials for students who are heading to study at California State University and other universities in the USA. They will also provide a link for Thammasat students in June 2023.

     During the meeting, Mr. Hickok expressed some concern about whether course offerings at Thammasat would be convenient for credit transfer for CSUF students. The Thammasat representatives provided more information about the courses offered at Thammasat and assured him that they are comprehensive and suitable for the needs of CSUF students.

     For its part, CSUF updated Thammasat on the appointment of the new Vice President for International Affairs, Dr. Debra Leahy who has over 25 years of experience in the field. In a virtual introduction, she explored interest in enhancing collaboration with official notification to Thammasat due soon.

     การหารือความร่วมมือด้านการแลกเปลี่ยนนักศึกษา โดย Mr. John Hickok, Faculty, International Outreach, Library Department, California State University Fullerton (CSUF) และ นางสาวสุรัสวดี อาจนนท์ลา ผู้อำนวยการกองวิเทศสัมพันธ์ พร้อมด้วยนายทัตธนา สวัสดิเวทิน ผู้ประสานงานภูมิภาคอเมริกา ระหว่างการเยือนมหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์ ในวันที่ 13 กุมภาพันธ์ 2566

     โดยประชาสัมพันธ์การจัดทำ Training Video แนวทางการเสนอโครงการวิจัยและการทำวิจัย สำหรับนักศึกษาธรรมศาสตร์ ที่ประสงค์เรียนและศึกษาวิจัยที่ CSU และมหาวิทยาลัยอื่น ๆ ในประเทศสหรัฐอเมริกา เนื่องจากการทำวิจัยเป็นส่วนสำคัญในการเรียนสำหรับนักศึกษาต่างชาติ ทั้งนี้ จะสามารถส่งลิงก์วีดิทัศน์ดังกล่าวได้ในเดือนมิถุนายน 2566 นี้

     CSU Fullerton ให้ข้อมูลเพิ่มว่า นักศึกษาจากสหรัฐอเมริกาส่วนมากที่มาแลกเปลี่ยนยังต่างประเทศ ต้องการศึกษาวิชาเฉพาะที่ตรงกับหลักสูตรของมหาวิทยาลัยต้นสังกัด เพื่อง่ายต่อการเทียบโอน ซึ่งธรรมศาสตร์จะสามารถอำนวยความสะดวกจัดหลักสูตรให้ตรงกับความต้องการกับนักศึกษา เพื่อเป็นการดึงดูดนักศึกษาจากต่างประเทศได้ พร้อมนี้ ฝ่ายธรรมศาสตร์ นำเสนอหลักสูตรนานาชาติ ที่ครอบคลุมหลากหลาย ทั้งสายสังคมศาสตร์ วิทยาศาสตร์ และด้านการแพทย์

     CSUF ให้ข้อมูลด้านความคืบหน้าการทำงานด้านวิเทศสัมพันธ์ Dr. Debra Leahy เข้ารับตำแหน่ง Vice President ด้านวิเทศสัมพันธ์ ซึ่งประสงค์จะทำ Virtual Introduction เพื่อแนะนำตัวและแนะนำมหาวิทยาลัยอย่างเป็นทางการ พร้อมเป็นโอกาสอันดีในกาหรือการทำความร่วมมือระดับมหาวิทยาลัยต่อไป
