Beyond 2030: Alternative Narratives and the Next Chapter of Sustainability
Thammasat University’s School of Global Studies (SGS) is proud to co-host a special academic session titled “Beyond 2030: Alternative Narratives and the Next Chapter of Sustainability” as part of the 18th National and International Academic Conference 2025. This session will take place on 6 August 2025, from 1.30 – 4.00 PM, at the United Nations Conference Centre, Bangkok.
In collaboration with Siam University, Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS), and the Thai E-Commerce Association, this session invites graduate students, researchers, academics, educators, and passionate undergraduate students to engage in critical dialogue around the future of sustainability beyond the 2030 agenda.
The session aims to explore alternative narratives of sustainability by drawing attention to local knowledge systems, indigenous perspectives, interdisciplinary innovation, and critical global reflections. Rather than focusing solely on mainstream approaches, this platform empowers participants to co-create new global agendas that are inclusive, equitable, and rooted in diverse contexts.
Key goals of this session include: Challenging dominant development paradigms through innovative, locally grounded perspectives Fostering cross-generational and cross-border dialogue on sustainability Encouraging academic collaboration and intellectual exchange across Asia and beyond 38 Petkasem Roadd., Phasicharoen Bangkok, 10160 Thailand Phone: +66(0)24570068 ext.5336 Mobile phone: +66 644929441 (Mr. Worapoom Saengkaew) Facebook: mbasiamuniversity E-mail: niac2025@siam.edu, sutima@sgs.tu.ac.th
