Thammasat and Central Group Partner to Elevate Student and Community Standards

Professor Dr. Supasawad Chardchawarn, Rector of Thammasat University, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Mr. Pichai Chirathivat, Executive Director of Central Group, to collaboratively enhance the quality of students in both curriculum and teaching management. This initiative aims to produce graduates whose competencies align with learning outcomes and meet the future demands of the labor market. Additionally, it includes the development and elevation of product standards for communities and vulnerable groups in various areas, ensuring stable and sustainable employment and income.

Attendees included executives from the Central Group, such as Ms. Sirivarn Wangthamrong from Central Plaza Hotel Public Company Limited, Mr. Veeramal Jongchanasit from Central Retail Corporation Public Company Limited, and Mr. Akharin Phurisit from Central Pattana Public Company Limited, as well as executives from Thammasat University, including Assoc. Prof. Ramida Patcharavanich, Vice President for Administration of the Pattaya Center and Business Relations, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Chayakrit Asawathitanon, Vice President for Human Resources Management, along with administrators from various faculties, colleges, and institutes. This gathering took place on September 24, 2025, at The Offices at Central World. Attendees included executives from the Central Group (Central Plaza Hotel, Central Retail Corporation, Central Pattana) and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ramiha Pacharavanich, Asst. Prof. Dr. Chayakrit Asvathitanont, from Thammasat University.

Professor Dr. Supasawad stated that Thammasat is committed to producing graduates who possess knowledge, skills, and ethics, in order to serve as a vital force in creating and transforming society. At the same time, the Central Group of Companies stands out as a business leader and a commendable example of an organization that is socially responsible, as demonstrated by the ‘Central Tham’ project, which has consistently prioritized sustainable human development and education.

Thammasat and Central Group collaborate to enhance student education and skills through learning, internships, and cooperative education, aligning with their shared commitment to Thai society.


This collaboration focuses on curriculum design, teaching, and Cooperative and Work Integrated Education (CWIE). It involves jointly developing curricula to produce graduates with job-market-ready competencies, utilizing an integrative, cross-disciplinary approach with practical, real-world experiences. Students gain work experience through cooperative education and internships. The partnership also facilitates knowledge transfer from business to education and supports skill development for personnel from both sectors. Ultimately, this collaboration aims to enhance the country’s workforce competencies, adaptability to global economic changes, and competitiveness.
