Update: Thammasat University has discussed an academic collaboration with partner universities and welcomed Japanese Embassy and U.S. Embassy, Thailand.

Soka University visits Thammasat to boost relations.

     The Vice Rector for International Affairs, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Supreedee Rittironk, welcomed top administrative officials from Soka University in Japan to Thammasat-Tha Prachan on 5 July 2024.

     Both sides reviewed and expressed their appreciation for the successful collaboration and the close-knit relationship between the two institutions. Under the current agreement, Thammasat and Soka enjoy active programs of cooperation at the university-level, with the Faculty of Liberal Arts via student exchanges, inter-seminars, and official visits.

     To reaffirm their strong relations, Vice Rector Supreedee presented proposals to expand the cooperation with new academic programs; namely staff exchanges, co-research projects, and short programs that can be tailor-made for the needs and interests of Soka students.

     The Vice Rector added that Thammasat intends to make an official visit to Soka to strengthen even further the relations between Thammasat and Soka.

     รศ. ดร.สุปรีดี ฤทธิรงค์ รองอธิการบดีฝ่ายวิเทศสัมพันธ์ มหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์ ต้อนรับเจ้าหน้าที่บริหารระดับสูงจาก Soka University ประเทศญี่ปุ่น เมื่อวันที่ 5 กรกฎาคม 2567 ณ มหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์ ท่าพระจันทร์

     โดยได้แสดงความชื่นชมกับความร่วมมือที่ประสบผลสำเร็จที่ผ่านมาและยินดีในความสัมพันธ์อันแน่นแฟ้นและความร่วมมือผ่านกิจกรรมต่าง ๆ ทั้งในระดับมหาวิทยาลัยและระดับคณะกับคณะศิลปศาสตร์ เช่น การแลกเปลี่ยนนักศึกษา สัมมนานานาชาติ รวมถึงการเยี่ยมเยือนอย่างเป็นทางการระหว่างกัน

     ในโอกาสนี้เพื่อการกระชับความสัมพันธ์ให้แข็งแกร่งมากยิ่งขึ้น รองอธิการบดีฝ่ายวิเทศสัมพันธ์ ได้เสนอการขยายความร่วมมือในการร่วมกันจัดกิจกรรมทางวิชาการใหม่ ๆ ร่วมกัน เช่น การแลกเปลี่ยนบุคลากร การทำวิจัยร่วม และจัดโครงการระยะสั้นในรูปแบบที่สามารถปรับแต่งรายละเอียดของโปรแกรมได้ เพื่อให้เหมาะสมกับความต้องการของนักศึกษา Soka ได้ ทั้งนี้ ได้แจ้งเพิ่มเติมถึงการเยือน Soka University อย่างเป็นทางการ เพื่อยกระดับความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างหน่วยงาน

Japanese Embassy, JIIA and Thammasat explore collaboration.

     Assoc. Prof. Dr. Supreedee Rittironk, the Vice Rector for International Affairs, along with Prof. Dr. Siriporn Wajjwalku, an expert in international relations from the Faculty of Political Science, met with Ms. Maki Kawamura, Counsellor (Director of the Japan Information Service) from the Japanese Embassy in Bangkok, and Mr. Tomoyuki Yoshida, Chief Executive Director of the Japan Institute of International Affairs (JIIA), during a visit to Thammasat-Tha Prachan on 26 July 2024. The meeting focused on an exchange of views to promote “Think Tank Institutes”, deepening international security and cooperation between Thailand and Japan.

     Dr. Siriporn briefed the Japanese visitors on Thai “Think Tank Institutes” and noted that their general aims are to reflect government policies and are, in the main, supported by the Thai Ministries of Finance and Foreign Affairs, among others.

     To encourage positive collaboration, the two sides agreed to discuss ways to enhance further cooperation via “Think Tank Institutes” in the areas of economic security, international development, cyber security, and climate change by means of international conferences, seminars, and network-building. 

     The Vice Rector voiced support for collaboration between Thammasat and JIIA in order to upskill Thammasat staff to become experts, particularly through research funding, international networking, and staff exchanges to bolster Thailand and Thammasat as a center of security studies in Southeast Asia.

     รศ. ดร.สุปรีดี ฤทธิรงค์ รองอธิการบดีฝ่ายวิเทศสัมพันธ์ และ ศ. ศิริพร วัชชวัลคุ ผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิด้านความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างประเทศ จากคณะรัฐศาสตร์ ต้อนรับ Ms. Maki Kawamura, Counsellor (Director of the Japan Information Service) จากสถานทูตญี่ปุ่นประจำประเทศไทย และ Mr. Tomoyuki Yoshida, Chief Executive Director จาก the Japan Institute of International Affairs (JIIA) ระหว่างการเยือนมหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์ ท่าพระจันทร์ เมื่อวันที่ 26 กรกฎาคม 2567 เพื่อแลกเปลี่ยนและส่งเสริมการทำงานของสถาบันคลังสมอง (Think Tank Institutes) ด้านความมั่นคงและความร่วมมือระหว่างประเทศไทยและญี่ปุ่น

     ศ. ศิริพร ให้ข้อมูลเกี่ยวกับภาพรวมของสถาบันคลังสมองในไทยว่ามีภารกิจสนับสนุนและตอบสนองนโยบายภาครัฐ โดยได้รับการสนับสนุนจากกระทรวงต่าง ๆ เช่น กระทรวงการคลัง กระทรวงการต่างประเทศ เป็นต้น ในโอกาสนี้เพื่อให้เกิดการส่งเสริมด้านความร่วมมือ ทั้งสองฝ่ายเห็นพ้องที่จะหารือแนวทางการสนับสนุนส่งเสริมแนวทางความร่วมมือผ่านสถาบันคลังสมอง ในด้านความมั่นคงทางเศรษฐกิจ การพัฒนาระหว่างประเทศ ความมั่นคงปลอดภัยทางไซเบอร์ การเปลี่ยนแปลงทางสภาพภูมิอากาศ รวมถึงการจัดประชุม สัมมนา และการสร้างเครือข่ายความร่วมมือ

     ซึ่ง รองอธิการบดีฝ่ายวิเทศสัมพันธ์ มีความยินดีที่จะสนับสนุนความร่วมมือระหว่างธรรมศาสตร์ และ JIIA เพื่อให้เกิดการพัฒนาทักษะของบุคลากรของธรรมศาสตร์ให้มีความเชี่ยวชาญ โดยผ่านการสนับสนุนด้านต่าง ๆ เช่น ทุนวิจัย ส่งเสริมเครือข่ายนานาชาติ การแลกเปลี่ยนบุคลากร เพื่อให้ประเทศไทยและธรรมศาสตร์เป็นศูนย์ศึกษาด้านความปลอดภัยมั่นคงในภูมิภาคเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้

U.S. Embassy visits Thammasat to discuss IAPP Thailand (Phase 2)

     Mr. Dick Custin, Counselor for Public Affairs, and other officials from the U.S. Embassy visited Thammasat-Tha Prachan on 23 July 2024. They were greeted by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Supreedee Rittironk, the Vice Rector for International Affairs, along with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Surat Teerakapibal, the former Vice Rector for International Affairs, from the Thammasat Business School.

     Both sides expressed their pleasure with the success of the International Academic Partnership Program (IAPP) Thailand (Phase 1) at Thammasat-Rangsit on 22 April 2024. The Counselor then gave a brief on the IAPP Thailand (Phase 2), particularly concerning study tours at universities in both Thailand and in the USA. The U.S. Embassy will survey the interest and special programs at U.S. universities that would best align with Thai universities.

     The two sides exchanged views concerning past exchange programs and discussed ways to enhance the exchanges to increase the number of students heading in both directions under IAPP Thailand (Phase 2), including internships in the private sector abroad as well as expanding exchanges to vocational schools in the USA. 

     The IAPP program (Phase 1) was co-organized by Thammasat, the U.S. Embassy, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), the Institute of International Education (IIE), and 15 U.S. universities.

สถานทูตสหรัฐอเมริกา เยือนธรรมศาสตร์ หารือโครงการ IAPP Thailand (ระยะที่ 2)

     รศ. ดร.สุปรีดี ฤทธิรงค์ รองอธิการบดีบดีฝ่ายวิเทศสัมพันธ์ และ รศ. ดร.สุรัตน์ ทีรฆาภิบาล จากคณะพาณิชยศาสตร์และการบัญชี มหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์ ต้อนรับ Mr. Dick Custin ที่ปรึกษาด้านกิจการสาธารณะ พร้อมด้วยเจ้าหน้าที่จากสถานเอกอัครราชทูตสหรัฐอเมริกาประจำประเทศไทย เมื่อวันที่ 23 กรกฎาคม 2567 ณ มหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์ ท่าพระจันทร์

     โดยทั้งสองฝ่ายแสดงความชื่นชมยินดีกับความสำเร็จของ โครงการ the International Academic Partnership Program (IAPP) Thailand ระยะที่ 1 ที่ถูกจัดขึ้นเมื่อวันที่ 22 เมษายน 2567 ณ มหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์ ศูนย์รังสิต หลังจากนั้น Mr. Dick Custin ที่ปรึกษาฯ ได้ให้ข้อมูลเกี่ยวกับโครงการ the International Academic Partnership Program (IAPP) Thailand ระยะที่ 2 โดยเฉพาะเรื่องการเยี่ยมเยือนมหาวิทยาลัยทั้งในประเทศไทยและสหรัฐอเมริกา ซึ่งสถานเอกอัครราชทูตสหรัฐอเมริกาประจำประเทศไทย จะทำการสำรวจข้อมูลเพื่อสอบถามความสนใจในการทำความร่วมมือ พร้อมสำรวจข้อมูลสาขาวิชาที่โดดเด่นของแต่ละมหาวิทยาลัย เพื่อที่จะสามารถจับคู่ทำความร่วมมือทางวิชาการระหว่างมหาวิทยาลัยของทั้ง 2 ประเทศที่มีความโดดเด่นคล้ายคลึงกัน

     ทั้งสองฝ่ายได้แลกเปลี่ยนมุมมองเกี่ยวกับปัญหา ข้อห่วงใยในการดำเนินโครงการแลกเปลี่ยนนักศึกษาที่ผ่านมาและหารือแนวทางการส่งเสริมโครงการแลกเปลี่ยนเพื่อเพิ่มจำนวนนักศึกษาทั้งขาเข้าและขาออกภายใต้โครงการ IAPP Thailand ระยะที่ 2 ไม่ว่าจะเป็นการฝึกงานของนักศึกษาในภาคส่วนเอกชนในต่างประเทศ รวมถึงการขยายการแลกเปลี่ยนนักศึกษาร่วมกับโรงเรียนด้านวิชาชีพในสหรัฐอเมริกาอีกด้วย

     ทั้งนี้ โครงการ The IAPP program ระยะที่ 1 จัดขึ้นโดยการประสานความร่วมมือในหลายภาคส่วน คือ มหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์ สถานเอกอัครราชทูตสหรัฐอเมริกาประจำประเทศไทย กระทรวงการอุดมศึกษา วิทยาศาสตร์ วิจัยและนวัตกรรม the Institute of International Education (IIE) และ 15 มหาวิทยาลัยในสหรัฐอเมริกา 

Auckland University of Technology and Thammasat herald new ties.

     Prof. Guy Littlefair, Pro Vice-Chancellor and Dean, Faculty of Design and Creative Technologies, accompanied by the Director of International Relations and Recruitment from the Auckland University of Technology (AUT) in New Zealand, met with Dr. Usanee Lertrattananon, Assistant to the Rector for International Affairs, along with the Dean and Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Research from the College of Innovation during a visit to Thammasat-Tha Prachan on 5 August 2024. The visit was part of AUT’s Southeast Asia Tour.

     The visit allowed both sides to introduce themselves in greater detail regarding special programs before a scheduled signing of an MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) on 15 August 2024 at AUT, attended by the Thammasat Rector and executives. The signing ceremony heralds the start of potential co-activities in student and staff exchanges, and co-research, particularly in the fields of medicine, public health, and engineering.

     TU and AUT exchanged views on their incoming exchange student programs. Prof. Guy noted that AUT offers pre-course English classes for incoming international high school students who will be pursuing degree programs at AUT, but need to upgrade their English proficiency skills.

     From the Thammasat side, the Dean of the College of Innovation sought scholarships from AUT for Thammasat students. Prof. Guy noted that AUT currently offers scholarships from its own funds as well as from the New Zealand government. 

AUT และธรรมศาสตร์ ผลักดันความร่วมมือใหม่

     Prof. Guy Littlefair Pro Vice-Chancellor พร้อมด้วยคณบดี Design and Creative Technologies และผู้อำนวยการ International Relations and Recruitment จาก the Auckland University of Technology (AUT) ประเทศนิวซีแลนด์ หารือกับ ดร.อุษณีษ์ เลิศรัตนานนท์ ผู้ช่วยอธิการบดีฝ่ายวิเทศสัมพันธ์ พร้อมด้วย ผศ. ดร.ชยกฤต อัศวธิตานนท์ คณบดีวิทยาลัยนวัตกรรม และ รศ. ดร.คม คัมภิรานนท์ รองคณบดีฝ่ายวิชาการและวิจัย วิทยาลัยนวัตกรรม เมื่อวันที่ 5 สิงหาคม 2567 ณ มหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์ ท่าพระจันทร์ โดยการเยือนครั้งนี้ เป็นส่วนหนึ่งของโครงการเยือนหน่วยงานในประเทศเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้  

     โดยแลกเปลี่ยนมุมมองเรื่องนักศึกษาแลกเปลี่ยนของทั้งสองมหาวิทยาลัย และ Prof. Guy ได้ให้ข้อมูลเพิ่มเติมว่าปัจจุบัน AUT มีคอร์สเรียนภาษาอังกฤษ สำหรับนักเรียนมัธยมที่ต้องการสมัครศึกษาต่อแบบเต็มเวลาที่ AUT แต่ต้องพัฒนาทักษะการใช้ภาษาอังกฤษ เพื่อให้ตรงตามความต้องการของหลักสูตร ซึ่งในปัจจุบัน ทุนการศึกษาของ AUT ให้การสนับสนุนโดยสถาบัน รวมถึงได้รับการสนับสนุนจากรัฐบาลด้วย

     ทั้งนี้ เมื่อวันที่ 15 สิงหาคม 2567 ศ. ดร.ศุภสวัสดิ์ ชัชวาลย์ รักษาการแทนอธิการบดีมหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์ พร้อมด้วยคณะผู้บริหารมหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์ ได้เดินทางไปลงนามความร่วมมือทางวิชาการ ณ the Auckland University of Technology (AUT) ประเทศนิวซีแลนด์ ในการแลกเปลี่ยนนักศึกษา บุคลากร ทำวิจัยร่วมกัน โดยเฉพาะด้านแพทยศาสตร์ สาธารณสุข และวิศวกรรมศาสตร์

OIA Thammasat and the Lehigh Summer Institute co-organize summer program

     The Thammasat Office of International Affairs and the Summer Institute at Lehigh University in the USA co-organized a summer program from 23 June to 5 July 2024. The program offers students the opportunity to engage with professors and fellow students in an in-person, Thai learning environment at Thammasat-Tha Prachan in Bangkok. 

     The OIA organized a cultural tour of The Emerald Buddha Temple and the Grand Palace for an introduction to the history of Thai architecture. During the tour, Lehigh students were offered more insights into Mural Painting and Stucco Arts, presented by an official expert guide from the Thai Royal Palace.

     The OIA threw a welcome party for Lehigh students at the Riverside Room of the Faculty of Liberal Arts, Thammasat-Tha Prachan. The students were welcomed to Thammasat by the Vice Rector for International Affairs, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Supreedee Rittironk.

     Students were encouraged to join in Thai folk dancing with OIA staff before they enjoyed a riverside buffet dinner, featuring an array of Thai cuisine from a famous restaurant in Bangkok. All the exclusive dishes were specially selected by the OIA in order to allow students to experience the real taste of “Thainess”

กองวิเทศสัมพันธ์ ธรรมศาสตร์ ร่วมกับ Lehigh Summer Institute จัดโครงการภาคฤดูร้อน

     กองวิเทศสัมพันธ์ มหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์ ร่วมกับ the Summer Institute at Lehigh University จากสหรัฐอเมริกา ร่วมจัดโครงการภาคฤดูร้อน (โครงการระยะสั้น) ระหว่างวันที่ 23 มิถุนายน ถึง 5 กรกฎาคม 2567 สำหรับนักศึกษาของ Lehigh ได้มีโอกาสเรียนแบบใกล้ชิดกับอาจารย์ เพื่อนนักศึกษา อีกทั้งได้มีโอกาสสัมผัสและเรียนรู้ความเป็นไทย ณ มหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์ ท่าพระจันทร์

     โดยจัดกิจกรรมท่องเที่ยวเชิงวัฒนธรรม เช่น การเยี่ยมชมวัดพระแก้วและพระบรมมหาราชวัง เพื่อการเรียนรู้ประวัติศาสตร์ด้านสถาปัตยกรรมไทย นักศึกษา Lehigh จะได้เรียนรู้ข้อมูลเชิงลึกของศิลปะการวาดภาพบนผนังและศิลปะปูนปั้น บรรยายโดยเจ้าหน้าที่ผู้เชี่ยวชาญจากสำนักพระราชวัง

     ทั้งนี้ มีงานเลี้ยงต้อนรับนักศึกษา ณ ห้องริมน้ำ คณะศิลปศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์ ท่าพระจันทร์ และกล่าวต้อนรับโดย รศ. ดร.สุปรีดี ฤทธิรงค์ รองอธิการบดีฝ่ายวิเทศสัมพันธ์
