This network enables Thammasat University and TUIP Company Limited (TUIP) to align academic expertise with market and societal needs, helping researchers and students scale university-driven businesses alongside key industry partners.

During the event, Prof. Dr. Yodchanan Wongsawat, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, delivered a keynote speech titled “Thailand New Economy: From Knowledge to National Growth.” He stressed transforming knowledge, research, and IP into businesses and uniting universities to evaluate and invest in cross-institutional tech across health, medicine, AI, and advanced technology.
SET Chairman Professor Emeritus Kitipong Urapeepatanapong shared “New Economy: The Next Engine of Thailand,” highlighting how the capital market supports new economy businesses from university incubation and expansion funding to market entry.
Additionally, a 1-billion-baht Private Equity Trust (PE Trust) was established to co-invest in expanding New Economy sectors, including deeptech, digital/AI, medtech, and future agrifood. Coordinated by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, NXPO, the Stock Exchange of Thailand, CMDF, NIA, and partners, this initiative aims to commercialize Thai innovation and sustainably improve quality of life.
