On September 2, 2026, Prof. Dr. Supasawad Chardchawarn, Thammasat University Rector, participated in the opening ceremony of the 27th Academic Conference of the Four Institutions: Mahidol University, the Royal Thai Navy, Thammasat University, and Kasetsart University. The conference was held under the theme “Future Skills for Sustainable Impact.” The event took place at Mahidol University and was attended by executives from all four institutions, including Professor Dr. Naeti Suksomboon, Vice President for Education at Mahidol University; RAdm Somrit Ngamsuai, Deputy Director-General of the Naval Education Department; and Asst. Prof. Dr. Monthon Thanuttamawong, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Lifelong Learning at Kasetsart University. The conference aimed to exchange knowledge and perspectives on “Future Skills” in preparation for equipping the new generation to cope with global changes and to collaboratively create a positive and sustainable impact on society.

     The event was honored by the presence of Professor Dr. Yodchanan Wongsawat, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, who served as the chairman of the ceremony and delivered a keynote speech on the topic “Thriving in the Future Economy: Thinking Differently, Creating Opportunities.”

     Additionally, there was a special discussion featuring representatives from the four institutions, covering critical skills for the future, including: 1. Future Sustainable Competency or Skills: competencies or skills related to sustainability; 2. New Generation Leaders and Collaborative Skills in Ocean Conservation: small steps today to deliver the oceans to future generations; 3. Lifelong Learning and Adaptability: skills for lifelong learning; and 4. Digital and Innovation Skills: digital and innovation skills. In the segment from Thammasat University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Teerayut Horanont from Sirindhorn International Institute of Technology (SIIT) participated in the discussion on the topic of Digital and Innovation Skills.

     The conference enabled student representatives from all four institutions to share ideas on “Skills for the Future to Create Sustainable Impact,” highlighting youth participation in shaping the future. Hosted by Mahidol University, this 27th annual conference serves as an ongoing knowledge-sharing platform, with the Royal Thai Navy scheduled to host the 28th conference.
