Thammasat University, in collaboration with Bangchak Corporation Public Company Limited, is advancing the systematic management of used cooking oil under the Fry to Fly project and the No Re-fry project.

Thammasat University and Bangchak Corporation Public Company Limited signed an MOU on “used cooking oil management to reduce environmental impacts and promote consumer health” under the Fry to Fly and No Reuse projects. The initiative systematically manages used cooking oil, raises health awareness about reused frying oil, optimizes resource use, and supports clean energy transition.
The agreement was signed on October 12, 2026, at Thammasat University by Rector Prof. Dr. Supasawad Chardchawarn and Bangchak Assistant Managing Director Khun Kantamat Kritayanukul. The event was witnessed by Faculty of Public Health Dean Asst. Prof. Dr. Soisuda Kesornthong and BSGAF Managing Director Khun Suraporn Phetdee, with Bangchak Deputy Managing Director Khun Gloyta Nathalang, alongside executives and staff from both organizations, also attending.

This collaboration aims to link consumer health care with environmental management by raising awareness among the public and businesses about health risks associated with the reuse of cooking oil. It also supports the collection system for used cooking oil to be repurposed as raw material in the production of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), thereby enhancing the value of waste resources and promoting the utilization of resources in line with the principles of a Circular Economy.
Meanwhile, Faculty of Public Health at Thammasat University plays a role in connecting public health knowledge with the operations of the private sector to foster understanding of the health impacts of reused cooking oil and to promote appropriate and environmentally responsible management practices for used cooking oil.
