Faculty of Learning Sciences and Education, Thammasat University received the “Green Office Award, Excellent Level (Gold Medal) of the Year 2022”

     Faculty of Learning Sciences and Education, Thammasat University received the “Green Office Award, Excellent Level (Gold Medal) of the Year 2022” from the Department of Environmental Quality Promotion, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment. It is also the first faculty-level organization at Thammasat University that has passed the standards of being a "Green Office".

     Various activities are carried out within the faculty that are in line with the progression of the "Green Office" with management that has the least impact on the environment by using resources and energy in a valuable manner. There are guidelines for effective waste management including the selection of materials and equipment, environmentally friendly office supplies, and emitting low amounts of greenhouse gases.

     In driving social change and fostering an important management foundation that is beneficial to the prevention and solution of environmental problems; Faculty of Learning Sciences and Education has established a Green Office working group on March 29, 2022 to operate in accordance with the standard framework of the Department of Environmental Quality Promotion as well as formulating energy and environmental policies in the form of a green office and aims for administrators, teachers, staff, personnel and students to conduct various activities by taking into account both environmental and social sustainability, such as complying with laws and regulations on energy and environment, realizing and participating in energy and environmental conservation, committing to reducing energy and environmental impacts from operations and jointly driving various operational plans to be in line with the operational strategic plans that takes into account the impact and sustainability of the environment and society, and good governance of Thammasat University for sustainable development.

     In the year 2022, in the Faculty of Learning Sciences and Education, there are energy and environmental management goals which are: 1. Electricity consumption decreases by 2% compared to 2021 2. Tap water usage decreases by 2% compared to 2021 3. The use of office paper decreases by 2% compared to 2021 4. Vehicle fuel consumption decreased by 2% compared to 2021. 5. Waste/discharge delivered to authorized contractors decreased by 2% compared to 2021; 6. The amount of greenhouse gas emissions decreased by 2% compared to 2021; and 7. The faculty of Learning Sciences and Education passed the green office audit.

     In the next phase, the Faculty of Learning Sciences and Education will continue to serve to drive society through learning and continuously encourage sustainable development by adopting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a guideline for the Faculty's performance according to the policy of Thammasat University.
