Update: Thammasat University has discussed an academic collaboration in research and PhD students exchange with Hokkaido University, Japan

Thammasat University signed a MOU with Hokkaido University, Japan

          Assoc. Prof. Gasinee Witoonchart, Thammasat University Rector together with Vice Rector Assoc. Prof. Kitti Prasertsuk and Dean of the Faculty of Public Health, Asst. Prof. Dr. Sasithorn Theptrakarnporn made a courtesy visit to Acting President of Hokkaido University and Prof. Hiroshi Kida, Head of Research Center for Zoonosis Control on 14 May 2019. The agreement on extension of MOU between Hokkaido University and Thammasat University was done with continued collaboration in research and PhD students exchange with Faculty of Public Health, Thammasat University.

The MOU signing ceremony between Thammasat University and Simon Fraser University (SFU)

          On 29 March 2019 - Prof. Andrew Petter, President and Vice-Chancellor of Simon Fraser University (SFU), Canada, along with executives, visited Thammasat University in the MOU signing ceremony between Thammasat University and Simon Fraser University and greeted by Rector Gasinee Witoonchart along with Vice Rector for International Affairs, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kitti Prasirtsuk, Vice Rector for Research and Innovation, Prof. Dr. Siriwan Suebnukarn D. D. S., and Associate dean for international affairs of faculty of economics, Asst. Prof. Dr. Chayanee Chawanote. Both sides discussed student exchange, joint research, including TU short summer programs, SFU showed particular interest in the Chaired Professor Program. SFU will publicize SFU’s students to join short programs at Thammasat University.

 

 

Thammasat University participated in Thailand Education Fair Myanmar 2019

           On 27 - 28 April 2019 - Thammasat University participated in Thailand Education Fair Myanmar 2019 at Yangon and Mandalay, Led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chalie Charoenlarpnopparut, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, the delegation included Asst. Prof. Dr. Supranee Lisawadi, Assistant to the Rector for International Affairs, staff from Office of International Affairs, and representatives from Thammasat Business School. Thammasat booth received a lot of attention from students and parents.

 

University of Arts London, UK, visited Thammasat University

          On 9 April 2019 – Vice Rector for International Affairs, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kitti Prasirtsuk, along with
Dean and executives from Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, Faculty of Architecture and Planning met with Ms. Sarah Joyce, International Marketing and Sales Manager, University of Arts London, United Kingdom. This visit aimed to explore possibility of sending Thammasat students to study summer program at UAL in the fields of Arts and Design, UAL is a world-class university and well known for fine arts, fashion design, architecture, spatial and interior design. Moreover, the discussion also includes joint degree, joint research and chaired professor program.

 

The MOU signing ceremony between Thammasat University and the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (International IDEA)

          On 27 March 2019 - Rector Gasinee Witoonchart along with Vice Rector Kitti Prasirtsuk, Dean Tavida Kamolvej, Associate Dean Puli Fuwongcharoen, and Director of International Studies Program of the faculty of Political Sciences, Asst. Prof. Dr. Jittipat Poonkhan met with Leena Rikkilä Tamang, Director for Asia and Pacific of The International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (International IDEA), and executives in the MOU signing ceremony between the two Institutions. Under this collaboration, Thammasat University and the International IDEA will set up Dr. Surin Pitsuwan Fellowship and the International IDEA will host 2 students to intern its head office in Stockholm every year.
