Thammasat researchers and inventors won 27 awards from Asia's largest competition stage, The 34th International Invention, Innovation & Technology Exhibition.

     The inventors and researchers from Thammasat University received awards from The 34th International Invention, Innovation & Technology Exhibition (ITEX 2023) held in Kuala Lumpur, Federation of Malaysia. The competition is divided into 2 levels: inventor/researcher level and youth level.

Thammasat teams are able to win a total of 27 awards, including 9 gold medals, 9 silver medals and 9 special awards.

▪️ 9 Gold Medal Awards

     1. Project Title: Development and properties of polypropylene/ Polyethylene vinyl acetate/ micro-cellulose for polishing materials application in Thailand’s jewelry industry (bright a gems)

     by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chirawut Phetyen, Faculty of Science and Technology and the research team, namely Assoc. Prof. Dr. Benya Cherdhirankorn, Asst. Prof. Duangkhae Butkul, Ms. Kanyarat Namnon, Mr. Suphanat Sarika, Mr. Samut Na Ratchasima and Mr. Jesada Jianchit-aree received a special award from the on stage event, the ITEX 2023 Best Invention Award-International.

     2. Project Title: TU-SBA

Prof. Dr. Supakorn Boonyuen, Faculty of Science and Technology and the research team, namely Mr. Panote Lakkhanawaraporn, Mr. Natthapat Kaewthong, Ms. Suchanan Puangnak and Dr. Shanmugam Paramasivam received a special award from the World Invention Intellectual Property Associations (WIIPA), Taiwan.

     3. Project Title: Gluten-free and Soy-free Plant-based Chicken Meat from Young Jackfruit

     by Asst. Prof. Dr. Busrapa Leelawat, Faculty of Science and Technology and the research team, namely Ms. Thanyarat Taikerd, Ms. Atikarn Luekitinan and Ms. Passorn Lansai received a special award from the World Invention Intellectual Property Associations (WIIPA), Taiwan.

     4. Project Title: Healthy Instant Quinoa Roti with Condensed Milk Gel

     5. Project Title: 43 Rico fermented RD 43 rice drink

Prof. Dr. Suteera Wattanakul, Faculty of Science and Technology and the research team, namely Ms. Premjit Srisuppatpong, Ms. Ploy Prukphaiboon, Ms. Nuttarada Wongboonprasert, Mr. Thanakorn Kongsomchit, and Ms. Saranan Junthuam received a special award from the World Invention Intellectual Property Associations (WIIPA), Taiwan.

     6. Project Title: PineBiotic: Low-sugar pineapple drink powder fortified with probiotics PineBiotic: Low-sugar pineapple drink powder with probiotic

     8. Project Title: Pressurized Twin Shaking Pipe Water Pump

     by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thanit Ruangrungchaikul, Faculty of Science and Technology and the research team, namely Mr. Kritchanon Suanchan received a special award from the World Invention Intellectual Property Associations (WIIPA), Taiwan.

     by Asst. Prof. Dr. Onprapha Thep Sinlapavisuth Faculty of Science and Technology and the research team, namely Ms. Nipawadee Sukri and Ms. Phanawan Imorachorn received a special award from the Indonesian Invention and Innovation Promotion Association (INNOPA).

     2. Project Title: Solar-Powered Water Quality Monitoring System for Smart Tank

     by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thanit Ruangrungchaikul, Faculty of Science and Technology and the research team, namely Assoc. Prof. Dr. Supetch Jirakajornkul and Mr. Kritchanon Suanchan.

     3. Project Title: InnoMed Nano-natural Products

     by Asst. Prof. Dr. Pariya Na Nakhon, Faculty of Science and Technology and the research team, namely Ms. Esther Tongaram received a special award from the Indonesian Invention and Innovation Promotion Association (INNOPA).

     4. Project Title: Extending the shelf life of lime Fruits up to 3 months

     by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Waraphat Wachirayakorn, Faculty of Science and Technology and the research team, namely Ms. Apatsaraporn Piromchom, Mr. Panumas Thienthong and Mr. Piyapong Sornkaew.

     5. Project Title: Increasing the quality and yield of straw mushrooms with Innovation novel agar substrate

     by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Waraphat Wachirayakorn, Faculty of Science and Technology and the research team, namely Mr. Piyapong Sornkaew, Ms. Supansa Charoensuk and Ms. Panadda Charoenchan.

     6. Project Title: Mini-Chemigation Device

     8. Project Title: Theoretical and model study of light weight armor Composite from 2-dimension (2d) natural Fabrics/polyester and epoxy for ballistic and stabbing protection (ballistic suit-mix. & mat.)

     by Dr. Suthasinee Inchai, Faculty of Dentistry and the research team, namely Mr. Narathip Suwannabat and Mr. Yuthasin Klangnak received a special award from the Hong Kong Student Invention Patent Program (HKSIP).

     ITEX is one of the Asia's largest competitions and exhibitions for inventors from different countries, held over 30 times. It is as well a forum for interested inventors and researchers from various countries to participate in research exhibitions and exchanging experiences between inventors and researchers organized by the Malaysian Invention and Design Society (MINDS), an agency promoting inventions and design of Malaysia.
