Update: Thammasat University has discussed an academic collaboration with Hokkaido Higashikawa Town Office.

Link-up between Thammasat and Hokkaido Higashikawa Town Office in Thailand.

     The Vice Rector for Administration (Tha Prachan) and International Affairs, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Surat Teerakapibal, along with the OIA regional coordinator for ASIA, greeted Director SATOSHI ODA and staff from the Hokkaido Higashikawa Town Office in Thailand at Thammasat-Tha Prachan on 23 December 2023.

     The visit focused on establishing academic collaboration in student and staff mobility between both institutions as well as providing scholarships supported by the Hokkaido Higashikawa Town Office. As a result, both sides agreed to begin initial collaboration through an MOU to be signed during January 2023.

     Both sides presented information about short programs on offer. Thammasat highlighted the Thammasat Summer School 2023 program which will offer Hokkaido students a chance to learn about Thai history and culture through activities, as well as to understand the business and economic situation in Thailand. Applications are scheduled to open in July 2023. Hokkaido, for its part, features a short program that includes Basic Japanese language and culture studies conducted by Higashikawa Town.

ธรรมศาสตร์ หารือการทำความร่วมมือกับ Hokkaido Higashikawa Town Office in Thailand

     มหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์ นำโดย รศ.ดร.สุรัตน์ ทีรฆาภิบาล รองอธิการบดีฝ่ายบริหารท่าพระจันทร์และวิเทศสัมพันธ์ พร้อมด้วยผู้ประสานงานภูมิภาคเอเชีย ให้การต้อนรับ Dr. SATOSHI ODA และเจ้าหน้าที่ประจำ Hokkaido Higashikawa Town Office ประจำประเทศไทย ระหว่างการเยือนมหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์ ท่าพระจันทร์ เมื่อวันที่ 23 ธันวาคม 2565 ที่ผ่านมา

     การเยือนครั้งนี้ เพื่อทำความร่วมมือทางวิชาการ เน้นการการแลกเปลี่ยนนักศึกษาและเจ้าหน้าที่ (student/staff mobility) ซึ่งทาง Hokkaido Higashikawa Town Office เสนอโอกาสการรับทุนการศึกษาสำหรับนักศึกษาจากธรรมศาสตร์ เพื่อเรียนที่ Hokkaido โดยทั้งสองฝ่ายมีความเห็นตรงกันที่จะลงนามความร่วมมือ (MOU) ภายในเดือนมกราคม 2566

     นอกจากนี้ ทั้งสองฝ่ายได้นำเสนอหลักสูตรระยะสั้น เพื่อเป็นทางเลือกสำหรับนักศึกษาทั้งสองสถาบัน โดยธรรมศาสตร์ นำเสนอ Thammasat Summer School 2023 เพื่อให้นักศึกษาจาก Hokkaido ได้มีโอกาสเรียนรู้วัฒนธรรมไทยและความเข้าใจเบื้องต้นเกี่ยวกับสถาการณ์เศรษฐกิจไทย พร้อมเป็นแนวทางการลงทุนในอนาคต ซึ่งจะเปิดรับสมัครในเดือนกรกฎาคม 2566 นี้ ในทางเดียวกัน ศูนย์นำเสนอโปรแกรมการเรียนระยะสั้น การเรียนภาษาญี่ปุ่นเบื้องต้น พร้อมวัฒนธรรมจากเจ้าของภาษาโดยตรง ภายใต้บรรยากาศการเรียนที่สนุก อบอุ่น และได้รับการดูแลจากทางโรงเรียนสอนภาษาญี่ปุ่นโดยเทศบาลเมืองฮิกาชิคาวะ
