Thammasat University participates in the Global Summit of Women 2022

     Thammasat University, led by the Rector Gasinee Withoonchart, along with the Assistant to the Rector for International Affairs and Thammasat students, participated in the 32nd Global Summit of Women 2022 (#GSW2022), under the theme "Women: Creating Opportunities in the New Reality", which was hosted by Thailand, 23-25 June 2022 at the Centara Grand at Central World Hotel.

     Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha presided over the Summit's opening ceremony and delivered an opening speech on 23 June. Among the powerful and accomplished women leaders from different business and government sectors across four continents who participated in GSW2022 were Ms. Vjosa Osmani-Sadriu (President of the Republic of Kosovo) and Ms. Vo Thi Anh Xuan (Vice State President of Vietnam).

     The President of the Global Summit of Women, Irene Natividad, noted that everyone is still facing difficult and challenging times -- from the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and an unknowable future -- and said that women have a lack of opportunities to access the best paying jobs to support their families. Also, Chair of the Thai Host Committee and former Minister of Tourism and Sports, Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul, said that the summit showcases what Thailand has to offer, as well as highlighting the talents of Thai women about whom perceptions have changed compared to the past.

     The Global Summit of Women 2022 focused on solutions, as well as the sharing of practical strategies forged by women for women, with over 650 participants from 52 countries taking part, most hailing from Vietnam, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Mexico and the Philippines.

     The annual international business and economic forum for female leaders officially opened after two and a half years of the Covid-19 pandemic. Participants expressed their overwhelming admiration for the warm welcome from their Thai hosts. Feedback on the summit was very impressive and demonstrates that women play a huge role in the global labor market, the international economy and contribute immensely to the development of global GDP.

     มหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์ นำโดย รศ.เกศินี วิฑูรชาติ อธิการบดีมหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์ พร้อมด้วย อาจารย์ ทพญ.สิริภัทรา พัชนี ผู้ช่วยอธิการบดีฝ่ายวิเทศสัมพันธ์ และนักศึกษามหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์ เข้าร่วมงานประชุมสุดยอดผู้นำสตรีโลก (Global Summit of Women 2022) ครั้งที่ 32 ภายใต้หัวข้อ "Women: Creating Opportunities in the New Reality" ที่ประเทศไทยเป็นเจ้าภาพในการจัดงานครั้งแรก ระหว่างวันที่ 23-25 มิถุนายน 2565 โรงแรมเซ็นทาราแกรนด์ เซ็นทรัลเวิลด์

     พล.อ.ประยุทธ์ จันทร์โอชา นายกรัฐมนตรี เป็นประธานในพิธีเปิด และมีผู้นำจากหลายประเทศเข้าร่วม อาทิ นางวีโยซา ออสมานี ประธานาธิบดีสาธารณรัฐคอซอวอ นางโว ทิ อันห์ รองประธานาธิบดีสาธารณรัฐสังคมนิยมเวียดนาม ตลอดจนรัฐมนตรี เจ้าหน้าที่รัฐบาล ผู้นำภาคธุรกิจที่เป็นสตรีจาก 4 ทวีป เข้าร่วมการประชุม

     การประชุมสุดยอดผู้นำสตรีในครั้งนี้ มีผู้เข้าร่วมประชุม 650 คนจาก 52 ประเทศทั่วโลก เช่น เวียดนาม คาซัคสถาน มาเลเซีย เม็กซิโก และฟิลิปปินส์ เป็นต้น ซึ่งนับเป็นการได้มาพบปะกันครั้งแรกหลังจาก 2 ปีครึ่งที่ทั่วโลกประสบกับวิกฤตการณ์การระบาดโรคโควิด-19 ผู้นำสตรีทุกท่านต่างชื่นชมการต้อนรับอย่างอบอุ่นของประเทศไทย ซึ่งเป็นสัญญาณที่ดีในการขานรับการประชุมและสื่อถึงความสำคัญของผู้หญิงซึ่งเป็นครึ่งหนึ่งของแรงงานทั้งโลกและเป็นผู้ขับเคลื่อนเศรษฐกิจในการพลักดันจีดีพีของโลก

     นางไอรีน นาทิวิแดด ประธานจัดการประชุมสุดยอดสตรีโลก 2022 กล่าวถึงสถานการณ์โลกปัจจุบันที่ต้องเผชิญ รวมถึงโอกาสของการเข้าถึงการทำงานสร้างรายได้ของผู้หญิงในการสนับสนุนครอบครัว  และนางกอบกาญจน์ วัฒนวรางกูร ประธานจัดงานการประชุมสุดยอดผู้นำหญิงระดับโลก ฝ่ายไทย และอดีตรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการท่องเที่ยวและกีฬา กล่างถึงแผนการดำเนินงานของการจัดงานครั้งนี้ รวมถึงบทบาทของผู้นำหญิงไทยในปัจจุบันที่มีความแตกต่างจากเดิม

President of EFMD Global pays a visit to Thammasat University

     On 14 June 2022, Prof. Eric Cornuel, President of EFMD Global, and Ms. Helke Carvalho-Hernandes, Vice-President, were welcomed to Thammasat University by the Rector, Gasinee Withoonchart, and the Vice Rector for Administration (Tha Prachan) and International Affairs, along with staff from the International Affairs Office. Discussions focused on organizing an international conference on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) which will be held by EFMD in April 2024 and on launching a new program called “Startup Exchanges” in cooperation with EFMD and member schools within the coming months.

     During the meeting at Tha Prachan, Thammasat highlighted current and past activities and achievements, such as the online and hybrid learning and teaching system which supported Thammasat students during the two years of the Covid-19 pandemic and the “DIY Project” workshop, a cooperation between Thammasat and communities.

     Also discussed was the “Thammasat Metaverse Campus” which will be launched within the next six months at Thammasat University in cooperation with more than fifty Thai and global companies to service the community with a T-verse platform, enabling people to reach out for explicit knowledge, research, and innovations created by Thammasat.

President of EFMD Global เยือนมหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์

     มหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์ นำโดย รศ.เกศินี วิฑูรชาติ อธิการบดีมหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์ พร้อมด้วย รศ. ดร.สุรัตน์ ทีรฆาภิบาล รองอธิการบดีฝ่ายบริหารท่าพระจันทร์และวิเทศสัมพันธ์ ให้การต้อนรับ Prof. Eric Cornuel, President และ Ms. Helke Carvalho Hernandes, Vice-President ของ EFMD Global ในการเยือนมหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์ ท่าพระจันทร์ ในวันที่ 14 มิถุนายน 2565 เพื่อหารือการจัดประชุมนานาชาติด้าน Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) ในเดือนเมษายน 2567 และเปิดตัวโครงการ “Startup Exchanges” ซึ่งเป็นความร่วมมือความร่วมมือระหว่าง EFMD กับสถาบันการศึกษาที่เป็นสมาชิก

     มหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์ ได้กล่าวถึงกิจกรรมที่ประสบผลสำเร็จและความคืบหน้ากิจกรรมที่จะดำเนินการในอนาคต เช่น ระบบการเรียนการสอนแบบ hybrid system ซึ่งเป็นอำนวยความสะดวกและสนับสนุนด้านการเรียนของนักศึกษาเป็นอย่างมาก ในช่วงการระบาดของไวรัสโควิด-19 ที่ผ่านมา รวมถึงโครงการ the workshop (DIY project) ที่ธรรมศาสตร์ร่วมมือกับชุมชน นอกจากนี้ มหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์ยังเตรียมเปิดวิทยาเขตแห่งที่ 5 ที่เรียกว่า “Thammasat Metaverse Campus” ซึ่งจะเริ่มภายใน 6 เดือนข้างหน้าร่วมกับบริษัทเอกชนที่มีชื่อเสียง มากกว่า 50 บริษัท เพื่อให้บริการทางการศึกษาแก่ผู้คนทั้งในประเทศไทยและทั่วโลกบนแพลตฟอร์ม T-Verse ซึ่งจะทำให้ทุกคนสามารถเข้าถึงองค์ความรู้ งานวิจัย รวมทั้งนวัตกรรมต่าง ๆ ของมหาวิทยาลัยได้

Hiroshima University visits Thammasat University

     Dr. Siripatra Patchanee (Assistant to the Rector for International Affairs) welcomed Dr. Ryuichi Sato, University Research Administrator in charge of NERPS, Research Strategy and Promotion Division, and staff from Hiroshima University, Japan on a visit to the Thammasat University, Rangsit Campus on 23 June 2022.

     During the meeting, Hiroshima University cordially invited Thammasat University to join the second Hiroshima International Conference on Peace and Sustainability, entitled “The NERPS Conference 2023” in Thailand from 28 February 28 to 3 March 2023. The NERPS Conference 2023 will be co-hosted by the Network for Education and Research on Peace and Sustainability (NERPS) of Hiroshima University and Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) in Thailand.
