Update: Thammasat University has discussed an academic collaboration with CORE International, Inc. to design and implement a project entitled E4SEA.

CORE International visits Thammasat Rangsit

     Rector Gasinee Withoonchart, along with the Vice Rector of Administration (Tha Prachan) and International Affairs, greeted a delegation from CORE International, Inc. during a visit to Thammasat University, Rangsit Campus on 28 October 2022.

     The visit focused on the possibility of enhancing academic collaboration between Thammasat and CORE to design and implement a project entitled E4SEA (Energy for Southeast Asia), a regional energy internship program supported by USAID/RDMA, under the management of CORE International. The purpose of the E4SEA is to increase the employability of more women and LGBTQI+ people in the energy sector in Southeast Asia. The project offers internship opportunities for students at member universities in Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam and the Philippines. The project is planned to be carried out initially for three years (2020-2023).

     มหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์ โดย รศ.เกศินี วิฑูรชาติ อธิการบดีมหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์ พร้อมด้วย รศ.ดร.สุรัตน์ ทีรฆาภิบาล รองอธิการบดีฝ่ายบริหารท่าพระจันทร์และวิเทศสัมพันธ์ ให้การต้อนรับผู้บริหารจาก CORE International, Inc. ในการเยือนมหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์ ศูนย์รังสิต เมื่อวันที่ 28 ตุลาคม 2565 ที่ผ่านมา เพื่อหารือความเป็นไปได้ในการทำความร่วมมือทางวิชาการร่วมกันในการดำเนินโครงการ E4SEA ซึ่งเป็นโครงการฝึกงานของนักศึกษาผู้หญิงในภาคส่วนแรงงานด้านพลังงาน โดยได้รับการสนับสนุนด้านงบประมาณจาก USAID/RDMA

     ระหว่างการหารือ ณ มหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์ ศูนย์รังสิต CORE ได้นำเสนอวัตถุประสงค์โครงการ เพื่อการสนับสนุนและเพิ่มการจ้างงานของผู้หญิงรวมถึงบุคคลที่มีความหลากหลายทางเพศ ในภาคส่วนพลังงานในภูมิภาคเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ นอกจากนี้ยังเปิดโอกาสให้นักศึกษาจากมหาวิทยาลัยในประเทศไทย อินโดนีเซีย เวียดนาม และฟิลิปปินส์ เข้าฝึกงานตามพื้นที่เป้าหมายด้วย โดยโครงการดังกล่าวจะดำเนินการในระยะเวลา 3 ปี ระหว่างปี 2020-2023
