EU Ambassador discuss expanding collaboration under Horizon Europe program.

     H.E. Mr. David Daly, European Union Ambassador to Thailand, paid a visit to Thammasat University, Tha Prachan Campus on 21 April 2023. He was warmly greeted by Rector Gasinee Witoonchart along with the Vice Rector for Administration (Tha Prachan) and International Affairs, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Surat Teerakapibal. 

     Rector Gasinee welcomed the Ambassador and provided information about the distinguished international business seminar that will be co-hosted by Thammasat for business schools around the world. The seminar is being organized in cooperation with the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) and is scheduled to be held near the end of 2023.

     Vice Rector Surat voiced enthusiastic support for further cooperation with new partners in Europe and highlighted the successful collaboration involving student and staff mobility with long-time colleagues in Europe under the Erasmus+ program, such as with the Ludwig-Maximilian University of Munich, Germany.

     Ambassador Daly expressed his interest that Thammasat join a consortium under the Horizon Europe project via exchange programs as well as contributing to international-level joint research in the fields of Climate Change and Security Affairs. He promoted the future framework, particularly in Foreign Affairs, Security Affairs and Political Affairs, and extended an invitation for Thailand to play a significant role in the future.

การหารือขยายความร่วมมือภายใต้โครงการ Horizon Europe กับมหาวิทยาลัยในยุโรป.

     เอกอัครราชทูตสหภาพยุโรปประจำประเทศไทย (H.E. Mr. David Daly) เยือนมหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์ ท่าพระจันทร์ เมื่อวันที่ 21 เมษายน 2566 ให้การต้อนรับโดย รศ.เกศินี วิฑูรชาติ อธิการบดีมหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์ พร้อมด้วย รศ.ดร.สุรัตน์ ทีรฆาภิบาล รองอธิการบดีฝ่ายบริหารท่าพระจันทร์และวิเทศสัมพันธ์

     อธิการบดีได้ให้ข้อมูลเบื้องต้นเกี่ยวกับธรรมศาสตร์และกิจกรรมที่จะจัดร่วมกัน The European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) สัมมนานานาชาติด้าน Business โดย Business School จากทั่วโลกจะมาร่วมกิจกรรมในช่วงปลายปี 2566 พร้อมนี้ รองอธิการบดีฝ่ายบริหารท่าพระจันทร์และวิเทศสัมพันธ์ ได้ให้ข้อมูลเพิ่มเติมเกี่ยวกับความร่วมมือทางวิชาการ ในการการแลกเปลี่ยนนักศึกษาและบุคลากรกับมหาวิทยาลัยในยุโรป ผ่านโครงการ Erasmus+ เช่น Ludwig-Maximilian University of Munich, Germany ทั้งนี้ ธรรมศาสตร์ ยังมองหาความร่วมมือในลักษณะเดียวกันนี้กับมหาวิทยาลัยใหม่ ๆ ในยุโรป

     ระหว่างการหารือ เอกอัครราชทูตสหภาพยุโรปประจำประเทศไทยให้ความสนใจในความร่วมมือในหลากหลายมิติส่งเสริมให้มีการทำความร่วมมือในรูปแบบ consortium ภายใต้โครงการ Horizon Europe โดยครอบคลุมทั้งการแลกเปลี่ยน และความร่วมมือด้านงานวิจัยในสาขาที่ที่น่าสนใจในระดับนานาชาติ เช่น Climate Change และ Security Affairs เป็นต้น พร้อมทั้งกล่าวถึงแนวทางการทำงานในอนาคตของ EU และต่อยอดการทำงานในบทบาทอื่น ๆ ของ EU ไม่ว่าจะเป็นทางด้าน Foreign Affairs, Security Affairs และ Political Affairs เป็นต้น ซึ่งมีความยินดีที่ประเทศไทยจะเข้ามามีบทบาทร่วมกันมากขึ้นในอนาคต

Chuo visits Thammasat to boost collaboration.

     Prof. Dr. Shirai Hiroshi, Vice President for international Affairs, and executives from Chuo University in Japan were greeted by the Vice Rector for Administration (Tha Prachan) and International Affairs, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Surat Teerakapibal during their visit to Thammasat University, Tha Prachan Campus on 17 March 2023.

     After Vice Rector Surat delivered welcoming remarks, the Chuo Vice President inquired about short programs at Thammasat, such as an 11-day on-site program in Entrepreneurship and English for Business and suggested field trips for Thammasat students to Chuo University. The Thammasat side agreed to provide accommodation, transportation and specific expenses for the whole program as well as offering a series of lectures by Thammasat lecturers who graduated from Japan. During the meeting, Thammasat expressed a keen interest in the exchange of faculty members between Chuo and the Sirindhorn International Institute of Technology (SIIT) at Thammasat University, Rangsit Campus.

     เมื่อวันที่ 17 มีนาคม 2566 รศ.ดร.สุรัตน์ ทีรฆาภิบาล รองอธิการดีฝ่ายบริหารท่าพระจันทร์และวิเทศสัมพันธ์ ต้อนรับ Prof. Dr. Shirai Hiroshi, Vice-President for international Affairs and executives จาก Chuo University ประเทศญี่ปุ่น โดย Chuo University สนใจการทำ Short Program สำหรับนักศึกษา Chuo เน้นด้าน Entrepreneurship และการพัฒนาด้านภาษาอังกฤษด้านธุรกิจ ระยะเวลา 11 วัน และธรรมศาสตร์จะอำนวยความสะดวกด้านที่พัก รถรับส่ง และอื่น ๆ ตลอดการจัดโปรแกรมกิจกรรมและการบรรยายโดยอาจารย์ที่จบการศึกษาจากญี่ปุ่น ซึ่งนักศึกษาจะได้รับใบประกาศนียบัตรหลังจบโปรแกรม พร้อมนี้ ธรรมศาสตร์ยินดีจัด Farewell Party Dinner และเชิญนักศึกษาไทยร่วมงานเพื่อสร้างความสัมพันธ์และแลกเปลี่ยนเรียนรู้วัฒนธรรม 

     ระหว่างการหารือ ธรรมศาสตร์ สนใจทำความร่วมมือในด้าน Exchange Faculty Member โดยเฉพาะกับสถาบันเทคโนโลยีนานาชาติสิรินธร เพื่อให้เกิดการแลกเปลี่ยนแนวทางการจัดการเรียนรู้ และพัฒนานวัตกรรมการสอนใหม่ ๆ ร่วมกัน

Thammasat and UCEAP explore opportunities to increase mobility.

     On 17 March 2023, Mr. Noah Kuchins, the Associate Program Director for Spain, Oceania, Asia and the Americas at the University of California Education Abroad Program (UCEAP), together with its Liaison Officer in Thailand, were welcomed to Thammasat University, Tha Prachan Campus by the Vice Rector for Administration (Tha Prachan) and International Affairs, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Surat Teerakapibal, along with the OIA Director and the Regional Coordinator for the Americas.

     The visit centered on updates of the exchange program between UCEAP and Thammasat under the current agreement after the pandemic and discussed exploring opportunities to increase the number of international students in both directions. Also considered was extending the collaboration in student, faculty and staff exchanges, and joint research under the 2023-2028 Agreement.

     Both universities talked about ways to expand cooperation via summer programs and internships for UC and TU students to have mutual opportunities to learn more about each other’s culture and life contexts in Thailand and the USA.

     รศ.ดร.สุรัตน์ ทีรฆาภิบาล รองอธิการบดีฝ่ายบริหารท่าพระจันทร์และวิเทศสัมพันธ์ พร้อมด้วย ผู้อำนวยการกองวิเทศสัมพันธ์ และผู้ประสานงานภูมิภาคอเมริกา กองวิเทศสัมพันธ์ ร่วมให้การต้อนรับ Mr. Noah Kuchins, the Associate Program Director for Spain, Oceania, Asia and the Americas, จาก University of California Education Abroad Program (UCEAP) สหรัฐอเมริกา และผู้ประสานงาน UCEAP ประจำประเทศไทย ระหว่างการเยือนธรรมศาสตร์ ท่าพระจันทร์ เมื่อวันที่ 17 มีนาคม 2566

     โดยได้หารือสถานการณ์การแลกเปลี่ยนนักศึกษาระหว่างสองสถาบันหลังจากการระบาดของโควิด-19  และหารือแนวทางการการแลกเปลี่ยนนักศึกษาเพื่อเพิ่มจำนวนนักศึกษาในอนาคต ทั้งในส่วนขาเข้าและขาออก รวมถึงหารือแนวทางการพัฒนาความร่วมมือรูปแบบอื่น ๆ ในอนาคตที่นอกเหนือจากโครงการแลกเปลี่ยนนักศึกษา อาทิ กิจกรรมด้านวิชาการ การทำงานวิจัย หรือสัมมนาทางวิชาการร่วมกัน ภายใต้ข้อตกลงความร่วมมือระหว่างปี 2023-2028

     นอกจากนี้ ทั้งสองฝ่ายได้หารือการจัดหลักสูตรระยะสั้นใหม่ ๆ สำหรับนักศึกษาทั้งสองสถาบัน เช่น Summer Program และการฝึกงาน เพื่อให้นักศึกษาได้ศึกษาเรียนรู้วัฒนธรรมการใช้ชีวิต ผนวกกับองค์ความรู้จากหน่วยงานเอกชนในประเทศไทยและสหรัฐอเมริกา

     President & Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Kevin Hall and Mr. Marc Bavin, Director of Global Engagement from the University of Victoria in Canada, were greeted by Rector Gasinee Witoonchart along with the Vice Rector for Administration (Tha Prachan) and International Affairs, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Surat Teerakapibal, upon their visit to Thammasat University, Tha Prachan Campus on 17 March 2023. 

     The UVIC executives introduced international programs at UVIC that have been especially popular for international students at UVIC, particularly Health Sciences, Digital Management, Cross Language and Fine Arts. They also highlighted recent activities and achievements among which has been the 12-18 hour online training course in Sustainable Development in cooperation with the United Nations (UN). A certificate is provided to each participant upon completion of the course.

     The Thammasat Rector expressed an interest in establishing Triangular Cooperation in joint research, particularly in medical fields, among Thammasat, UVIC and the private sector. In addition, Vice Rector Surat proposed expanding the cooperation via specific agreements in order to enhance exchange programs and co-curricular activities in the future.

     UVIC นำเสนอข้อมูลถึงความเป็นสถาบันที่มีความโดดเด่นในสาขา Health Sciences, Digital Management, Cross Language และ Fine Arts ทั้งนี้ ที่ผ่านมาได้ประสานความร่วมมือกับ United Nations (UN) ในการจัดอบรมออนไลน์ด้าน Sustainable Development โดยมีระยะเวลาอบรม 12-18 ชั่วโมง และเมื่อจบหลักสูตรผู้เข้าร่วมอบรมได้จะรับประกาศนียบัตร

     อธิการบดีมหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์ สนใจและเสนอให้มีการทำวิจัยร่วมกันในด้านการแพทย์ในรูปแบบไตรภาคี ระหว่างมหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์, University of Victoria และบริษัทเอกชน นอกจากนี้ รองอธิการบดีฝ่ายบริหารท่าพระจันทร์และวิเทศสัมพันธ์ เสนอให้มีการทำ Specific Agreement เพื่อสนับสนุนการแลกเปลี่ยนนักศึกษาและเอื้ออำนวยการจัดกิจกรรมทางวิชาการร่วมกันในอนาคต
