Update: Thammasat University has discussed an academic collaboration with partner universities.

Shandong University and TU mull broader collaboration

     A delegation from Shandong University visited the Rangsit Campus of Thammasat University on 9 June 2023. They were greeted and hosted by the Assistant to the Rector for International Affairs, Lecturer Siripatra Patchanee, and Lecturer Aphirak Mekmangkonthong from the Faculty of Medicine.

     Discussions focused on the desirability of expanding academic collaboration in the key area of Medical Sciences, including opportunities for medical student and staff exchanges, as well as internship programs at the respective university hospitals situated on both campuses. The Shandong representatives graciously extended an invitation to Thammasat to visit their campus and the pre-eminent Shandong Hospital in order to comprehensively consider upcoming collaboration in medicine and the signing of an MOU in the near future.

     Before parting, the delegation were taken on a tour of Thammasat Hospital by Lecturer Aphirak Mekmangkonthong, a renowned child neurologist at Thammasat Hospital.

     โดยหารือความเป็นไปได้ในการทำความร่วมมือระดับมหาวิทยาลัย โดยเฉพาะด้านการแพทย์ การแลกเปลี่ยนนักศึกษาและบุคลากรทางการแพทย์ รวมถึงการฝึกงานในสาขาที่เกี่ยวข้องในโรงพยาบาลของสองสถาบัน นอกจากนี้ Shandong University ได้เชิญธรรมศาสตร์ ไปเยือนมหาวิทยาลัยและเยี่ยมชมสถานที่สำคัญ ๆ โดยเฉพาะโรงพยาบาลประจำมหาวิทยาลัย พร้อมการหารือเพิ่มเติมในรายละเอียดการทำความร่วมมือด้านการแพทย์ และการจัดพิธีลงนามร่วมกันในอนาคต

     นอกจากนี้ อาคันตุกะจาก Shandong University ได้เยี่ยมชมแผนกต่าง ๆ ของโรงพยาบาลธรรมศาสตร์ฯ โดย อาจารย์ นพ.อภิรักษ์ เมฆมังกรทอง เป็นแพทย์ที่มีชื่อเสียงด้านกุมารเวชศาสตร์ประสาทวิทยา ประจำโรงพยาบาลธรรมศาสตร์ฯ เป็นผู้นำชมและบรรยาย

Keimyung and TU mull broader collaboration

     The Vice Rector for Administration (Tha Prachan) and International Affairs, along with the Dean and executives from the Korean Studies program at the Faculty of Liberal Arts, welcomed Dr. Kyungmo Min, Director of the Center for International Education and Development and staff from Keimyung University to Thammasat University, Tha Prachan Campus on 26 May 2023.

     The visit focused on the desirability of expanding academic collaboration at the university level, particularly in the field of Medical Science through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA). Significantly, both university campuses have hospitals that function as medical hubs which can support collaboration between the universities at the student and staff exchange levels or even internships for both parties.

     Also discussed was the international symposium scheduled for September 2023, co-hosted by Keimyung and the Faculty of Liberal Arts, Thammasat under the current faculty-level agreement.

     Keimyung cordially invited Thammasat to visit its campus and the Keimyung Hospital to boost exchange programs and co-curricular activities in the future.

     Keimyung University ประสงค์ทำความร่วมมือในระดับมหาวิทยาลัย โดยเฉพาะด้านการแพทย์ ซึ่งจะดำเนินการในรูปแบบ MOA เนื่องด้วยสองสถาบันมีโรงพยาบาลขนาดใหญ่และมีศูนย์การแพทย์ที่ครบวงจร จึงเป็นการง่ายที่จะพัฒนาความร่วมมือในรูปแบบการแลกเปลี่ยนทั้งอาจารย์ หรือนักศึกษาในสาขาที่เกี่ยวข้อง รวมถึงการฝึกงานด้วย 

     นอกจากนี้ Keimyung University ได้เชิญมหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์ เข้าร่วมงานประชุมสัมมนาวิชาการนานาชาติ เป็นการสัมมนาที่เน้นด้าน Korean Studies ซึ่งจะจัดในเดือนกันยายน 2566 นี้ โดย Keimyung University และคณะศิลปศาสตร์ เป็นเจ้าภาพร่วม และถือเป็นหนึ่งในกิจกรรมที่อยู่ภายใต้ความร่วมมือระดับคณะ

     Keimyung University ได้เชิญธรรมศาสตร์ เยี่ยมเยือนมหาวิทยาลัย เพื่อชมโรงพยาบาลและศูนย์ทางการแพทย์ พร้อมหารือการสนับสนับสนุนผลักดันด้านการแลกเปลี่ยนนักศึกษา และกิจกรรมทางวิชาการร่วมกันในอนาคต

Kyoto University ASEAN Center introduces new staff to Thammasat

     On 16 May 2023, Prof. Eiji Nawata, Director of the Kyoto University ASEAN Center in Thailand visited Thammasat University, Tha Prachan Campus to introduce new staff to Thammasat. He was accompanied by Mr. Takehiro Nishio, Deputy Director and Ms. Kaori Fukui, Assistant to the Director. They were greeted by the OIA Director and the OIA Regional Coordinator for Asia. 

The Thammasat representatives provided relevant information about Thammasat and promoted the exchange program at Thammasat for Kyoto students to study in Thailand through the Kyoto University ASEAN Center.

During the discussion, Thammasat suggested that the ASEAN Center organize and present an on-site and/or a virtual information session about Kyoto at Thammasat to include important information about course offerings, visa requirements, transportation, dormitories, etc. to Thammasat students who are considering applying to Kyoto University as exchange students.

Both sides explored ways to further cooperation with new academic activities, such as a Summer Program, short programs, joint research, and visiting professor programs. The OIA at Thammasat will provide more information, particularly about the Summer Program at Thammasat which can be tailor-made for the needs and interests of Kyoto students.

     ฝ่ายธรรมศาสตร์ ให้ข้อมูลเกี่ยวกับธรรมศาสตร์ พร้อมประชาสัมพันธ์โครงการนักศึกษาแลกเปลี่ยนสำหรับนักศึกษาจาก Kyoto University ที่สนใจมาศึกษาที่ประเทศไทย

     ระหว่างการหารือ ฝ่ายธรรมศาสตร์ เสนอการจัด Information Session ทั้งในรูปแบบ On-site และ online  เพื่ออำนวยความสะดวกในการเข้าถึงข้อมูลด้านหอพัก การเดินทาง วีซ่า การค้นหาวิชาเรียน เป็นต้น ซึ่ง Kyoto University ASEAN Center ยินดีส่งตัวแทนเข้าร่วมเป็นผู้บรรยายให้นักศึกษาที่เข้าร่วมโครงการแลกเปลี่ยน

     ทั้งสองฝ่ายหารือโอกาสในการจัดกิจกรรมร่วมกัน เช่น Summer Program, Short Program, Joint Research, Visiting Professor Program โดยธรรมศาสตร์ได้ให้ข้อมูลเพิ่มเติมเกี่ยวกับการจัดโปรแกรม ในรูปแบบ tailor-made short program ที่สามารถปรับแต่งรายละเอียดของโปรแกรม เช่น รายวิชา และช่วงเวลาเรียน ได้ตามความเหมาะสม

Showa Women's University visits Thammasat to boost exchange program

     Mr. Masanobu Yamazaki, Director of the Center for International Exchange at Showa Women's University (SWU) in Japan and staff were welcomed to Thammasat University, Tha Prachan Campus on 2 May 2023. They were met by the Director of the Office of International Affairs, the Head of the Japanese Language Section of the Faculty of Liberal Arts, and the OIA Regional Coordinators for Asia, Europe and Oceania.

     SWU provided information about scholarship opportunities for Thammasat students to study at SWU, highlighting the Hirao Scholarship which is supported by the private sector in Japan. It will be offered to 1-2 students from Southeast Asia annually. 

     The Head of the Japanese Language Section at Thammasat noted that the current number of exchange students decreased from 70% to 50% because of the COVID-19 pandemic and suggested SWU provide more English-taught course offerings that can be optional for students from other majors. 

     During the discussion, SWU also highlighted the SWU Online Japanese Program (Basic Japanese Level) scheduled for June and July 2023, offering basic Japanese language for inter-students getting ready to apply for exchange programs at SWU. The program includes Basic I for Beginners and Basic II for JLPT N4-level students. A tuition fee waiver will be awarded to students who finish the Basic II course and apply for the Intensive Japanese program. In addition, SWU offered to provide eight seats for Thammasat students to take the Basic II course free of charge so that there will be a balance in the number of exchange students between both institutes.

ธรรมศาสตร์ และ Showa Women's University หารือสนับสนุนโครงการแลกเปลี่ยน

     เมื่อวันที่ 2 พฤษภาคม 2566 Mr. Masanobu Yamazaki ผู้อำนวยการ Center for International Exchange จาก Showa Women's University (SWU) ประเทศญี่ปุ่น เยือนมหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์ ท่าพระจันทร์ เพื่อหารือการสนับสนุนโครงการแลกเปลี่ยนและโอกาสการรับทุนการศึกษาสำหรับนักศึกษาธรรมศาสตร์ ให้การต้อนรับโดยผู้อำนวยการกองวิเทศสัมพันธ์ พร้อมด้วย รศ.ดร.สุณีย์รัตน์ เนียรเจริญสุข หัวหน้าภาควิชาภาษาญี่ปุ่น คณะศิลปศาสตร์ และมีผู้ประสานงานภูมิภาคเอเชียและยุโรปจากกองวิเทศฯ เข้าร่วมต้อนรับและหารือในครั้งนี้

     SWU ให้ข้อมูลโอกาสการรับทุนการศึกษาของ SWU สำหรับนักศึกษาธรรมศาสตร์ เช่น Hirao Scholarship ซึ่งเป็นทุนจากภาคเอกชนของญี่ปุ่น โดยให้การสนับสนุนทุก ๆ ปี จำนวน 1 – 2 ทุนสำหรับนักศึกษาในภูมิภาคเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้

     ฝ่ายธรรมศาสตร์ โดยหัวหน้าภาควิชาภาษาญี่ปุ่น แลกเปลี่ยนข้อมูลสถิตินักศึกษาและสถานการณ์ในปัจจุบันว่าในอดีตมีนักศึกษาประมาณ 70% เข้าร่วมโครงการแลกเปลี่ยนต่อมาลดเหลือประมาณ 50% ภายหลังเกิดเหตุแพร่ระบาด COVID-19 พร้อมให้ข้อเสนอแนะสำหรับการเพิ่มรายวิชาที่สอนเป็นภาษาอังกฤษ เพื่อเป็นการอำนวยสะดวกสำหรับนักศึกษาคณะอื่น ๆ ไปศึกษาแลกเปลี่ยนที่  SWU มากยิ่งขึ้น

     SWU ประชาสัมพันธ์โครงการ SWU Online Japanese Program (Basic Japanese Level) จัดระหว่างเดือนมิถุนายนและกรกฎาคม เป็นการสอนภาษาญี่ปุ่นออนไลน์และปรับพื้นฐานเพื่อเตรียมตัวเข้าร่วมโครงการแลกเปลี่ยนที่ SWU โดยแบ่งเป็นรายวิชา Basic I สำหรับระดับผู้ที่มีความรู้เบื้องต้น และ Basic II สำหรับผู้ที่มีความรู้ในระดับ JLPT N4 นอกจากนี้ สำหรับนักศึกษาที่สำเร็จรายวิชา Basic II สามารถเข้าร่วมโครงการแลกเปลี่ยน Intensive Japanese ได้โดยยกเว้นค่าธรรมเนียม

     ในปี 2566 นี้ ทาง SWU ยินดีรับนักศึกษาธรรมศาสตร์ จำนวน 8 คน เข้าศึกษาในวิชา Basic II ฟรี ไม่มีค่าใช้จ่าย โดยจะนับเป็นโควตานักศึกษาแลกเปลี่ยน
